Brain Transplant?

Question:
Say if they had brain transplants in the future, where they could replace certain parts of someones brain if they weren't working properley. Do you think it would be possible to recieve the former owners memories even though you didn't personally have/experiance them?

Answers:
i suppose it would be possible...i watch a special a couple of years ago were they replaces a persons missing hand with someone else hand and it worked...i would think every part could be transplanted at some point (i was personally thinking that one day they are going to have a head transplant)

but i wouldn't want that transplant (brain parts)...could you imagine meeting someone that you have never met at his house because of the other persons memories...or meeting his wife (or in your case husband)...no if it were parts of the brain...i wouldn't want it

now however i think total brain transplants would be a good thing...i am not sure of every thing that goes on...but if were possible (actually i don't think anything is impossible....the only question is when will it be possible) i think it would be a great option for quadriplegics and any psychical but not mental disease patients

You watch toooo many movies, sweetie
Sounds like you would be a good candidate to find out.

Can you imagine waking up, and suddenly remembering all those people you had sex with, but never met? Or what about the time you shot that guy in the bank vault, just before you ran out the door with all that money?
i think theres helllllllllllllllla nerves n shi* to connect....good thinking tho!
I think so.
Brain transplant?

Really? Do have your eye on anyone's in particular?
Who knows. I dont think that will ever happen. But if it does I think you will have the memories of other...weaird.
You wouldn't be "able" to receive someone else brain "parts" as your body chemistry & brain chemistry would BOTH reject it. The best bet would be cloning from Umbilical Cord Blood a new brain and harvesting parts from it, which would then "fit your body" much better. So, no, no new memories, sorry.
right now it is difficult to imgine.
Too many nerves to connect for it to work, but even if it could, the body would easily regect it since it doesn't actually belong to the recipiant. The original brain would be designed to occupy the original body, not someone elses.
Interesting! I've never thought about that. That sounds like a fascinating idea.
