whats the newst and latest medicine affective for depression?

Question:

Answers:
Whenever I get depressed, I resist going to a psychologist to get drugs. I think they are overpriced and have too many side effects.

I do take melatonin each night before bed, and when I start to feel down, I usually realize that I have had an unhealthy diet and a lack of exercise lately. I begin to drink more water, cut out the refined sugar, avoid MSG (which unfortunately is in almost everything canned or processed) and I start taking a short walk around the block about an hour before bedtime. Then I take a nice hot shower before bed and during the few minutes before I fall asleep, I meditate on all the things I should be thankful for in my life. Sometimes I really have to force it when I feel like nothing is going right, but believe me, just a little positive thinking does good things.

I also make a rule to not allow my thinking to spiral for at least a day. I think you know what I mean by spiraling thoughts. Take a break from "what if"s and "poor me"s for a day. You will manifest fewer negativities in your life just by taking a day off from your problems every once in a while.

One more thing - If I ever feel hopeless, I allow myself to reflect on some bad times during the past that are gone now. I got through it then. Whatever is bringing me down now cannot bring about the end of the world. All hard times pass and I come out a better stonger person because of it.
