how to beat depression?
Question:

This is a very hard question. And no one answer will be correct at least not entirely. Usually there is one thing that causes depression. If you dig deep enough. For me I had to make peace with that, once I did that I imedialty started feeling better, over time everything got better. You have to remember that no matter how bad you believe your life to be, there is always something good in it. And something good worth going after. I have been happy for 4 years now and have never looked back. Just look forward to tommorrow instead of looking back at yesterday. You can make it what ever you want it to be. Start with one small goal for the day. Then work your way up everyday after that to something more challeging.

I don't suggest killing yourself. However if you want to beat depression find something that you are really interested in whether it be reading or something else. I had depression for a year and a half but I've beaten it and I'm working towards becoming a Psychologist myself. Just find something you are really good at and don't ever stop doing it.
Make up your mind that nothing, and no one is going to get you down! Also, on those blue days, just know that this is a phase, and things will look brighter again. I get depressed from time to time, and I think back to Scarlett O'Hara's famous line at the end of Gone With The Wind. "Tomorrow Is A New Day!"

My own experiences.
everyone gets depressed sometime or other. if you feel like you are always depressed or you've been feeling that way for a long time, then you should definately go & talk to your family doctor. i suffered many years with depression, but never did anything until i finally couldn't take it anymore. i went to my dr's office & literally had a breakdown in front of him. he was soo nice & we talked alot about it. eventually he prescribed zoloft in a low dose & my life has really been much better. i wish i had gone sooner. you might be too young to take medication, but maybe you can see your dr & he can send you somewhere to talk to someone. if your a kid or teen, talk to your mom, dad or maybe a teacher. believe me if my kid was depressed i would want him to tell me so i could help him get better. if its just because of something thats going on in your life i always think of that saying that goes something like " and this to shall pass". its basically means that even when things seem really bad, you will get through it and a better day will come, i promise :). good luck!
