Fun ways and ideas on how to teach medication education to inpatient psychiatric patients.?

Question:

Answers:
6 years ago I was an inpatient (psychiatric) 3 times. I don't think a discussion of medication should be "fun." Yes, there is a time for fun and a time to be more serious. Psychiatric patients medications are serious business. There may be some lighthearted, even funny, moments but I don't think you should plan for it. There's plenty of "down time" when patients are free to play games, watch TV, etc. where you can be more casual.

Tell them it's candy!
psychadelic sock puppets.. ? all I know nothing could possibly be more boring than a slideshow giving boring details on everything they already know about themselves .. Zzzzzzz
Give them computer access and make a research project out of it.. I should think they have plenty of time on their hands.. and you never know a more suitable method of treatment may come out of it for them..
perhaps, self-education of the illness is key to understanding what ails them. Can't hurt :)
