do you look at the bright side even in the worst of situations?

It is possible but difficult to look at the bright side most of the time. It is difficult because it is something one must learn and practice for some time. And it is a choice one must keep on making. I believe there are some foundations to looking on the bright side. Start with the principle that "reality just is." Reality is what is around us, and it is neither good nor bad. It becomes good or bad when we LABEL it good or bad.
Next add the principle "what I think is how I will feel." Our feelings come from our thoughts. Don't believe it? Try thinking for 10 to 15 minutes how your life sucks. Go through all the details, the disappointments, the problems. Just wallow in them mentally. And then, stop, and note how you feel. You will feel awful! Yep, how I think equals how I will feel. If I see a cloudy, humid day and think "crap. This weather sucks; I probably will have a rotten day," would you be surprised if I did? But what if I got up and said "Man, its great to be alive. I'm going to make waves, and live every moment today" would you be surprised if I had a good day? The day has not changed, but what I have programmed my mind to look for has!
If I do this every morning (and I actually do), then I am looking for the good things. After all, I have been telling myself life is good; what do you think my subconscious will be looking for! The good things! And somehow, just somehow, I will "magically" see the good even in the bad. But the magic is in all of us; it just needs to be turned loose. Try out these 2 principles, and do not be discouraged if they do not work immediately. Remember they do take time; but if you do nothing, in 10 years you could be asking the same question.... Or you could be looking on the bright side.
I wish you happiness, peace and joy.... and looking on the bright side.

Doors open and doors close. How you value each of those gives you the good and bad of it. So, let's say you apply for a job in a manufacturing plant and you'r turned down (door closes). Is that good or bad?
But then you keep looking for a job and a position at an Internet company for less money is offered to you (door opens). Is that good or bad?
Years later you learn that the manufacturing plant was closed due to an environmental contamination, and you would have been affected had you worked there. Is it still good or bad that you were not hired? Sometimes doors open and sometimes they close...you have to look into your past to decide if it was good or bad.
Cheers
yes no matter how bad a situation is i always say there is someone else in worse shape than you and leave it in god's hands and he will do the rest good luck to you
I usually cannot do that until the situation is thru. For example, getting beat up and the police not pressing charges on him. The bright side, found out he was a snitch
