Are lies part of being bipolar? Does a man suffering from bipolar disorder cannot help himself lying nonstop?
Question:
He says he is taking an homeopathic treatment but I don't know about that either. I'll find out in a few days when I get there .
Answers:
I am living with bipolar disorder and in treatment. Lying is not part of the bipolar disorder. It is a separate issue. Personally, I have had friends that were chronic liers and I know it can be frustrating. If it's tiny lies about things that really don't matter I don't get too bothered by it. If it is serious things and could get him in trouble then try confronting him about it. That may be enough to stop it. Point out what he said before and what he says now about the lie. If that does not work try to get him to a doctor.
As far as homeopathic remedies for bipolar disorder, in my opinion they are a bunch of BULLS**T and a wast of time and money. The only PROVEN treatment for bipolar disorder is through medication and/or therapy. I don't have anything against homeopathic treatment in general, I just don't think it works on this problem and neither does the mental health community at large.
I suggest he see his doctor about the bipolar disorder and the chronic lying. He definitely needs help in both areas.

My sister is bipolar and she does not lie. I have a friend who is a habitual liar, who is not bipolar. These two conditions are not the same, but they both, are a form of mental illness.
There are no homeopathic treatments for bi-polar. It is a chemical imbalance in the brain. And yes, lying seems to come with the territory. They lose track of time when they are manic, and when confronted, they just roll with whatever thought is in their brain. It sounds like he's a habitual liar.

Bipolar people are not liars in fact they have to learn about the mask worn by friends and family . Bipolar people are good people and need support and time to recover. Lies or rather the second vocabulary is what the winner-player uses. Plenty of good advice here.
