I like to weigh myself all the time--before and after workouts, before and after I pee. Am I strange?

Question:
I don't know why I feel the impulse to do this as I'm not really trying to gain or lose much weight.

Answers:
It's a little obsessive, but so long as you're not trying to gain or lose weight, it sounds pretty harmless. Everyone has certain rituals that are basically little things that if they had enough of them people would say they had Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), but for most people they don't get in the way of anything (OCD is basically when those rituals do get in the way). One of your OCD-like rituals is weighing yourself a lot, which is fine so long as you don't start to become obsessed with weighing more or less than you do now. If you were weighing yourself compusively to see if you'd lost any weight yet I'd worry that you might be developing an eating disorder, but if it's just something you do with the result not mattering too much the it's fine.

Sometimes it's funny to see how much weight you lose after one 'sitting' =x

Obsessive It's a little odd, but not a harmful thing.

well just stop it before you develop OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) or a eating disorder.

It sounds to me as if you have some Obsessive Compulsive Tendencies. Do you have anything else that you do repeatedly like check to make sure the door is locked, or the lights are off?

yep No it is called obsession. I use to do it too and have no idea why.

No, you're just obssessed with your weight, that's all.

No, you just like to know how much you weigh. You don't have to do it all the time, though. Limit yourself to twice a day. I assure you that you won't gain or lose a pound in one minute unless someone chopped off your hand or something.

you should only weigh yourself after you pee in the morning, it's when you weigh the less.gives you a little happiness for the day! Everyone has there own thing..Some people lift and always check themselves out in the mirror.possibly instead of doing that your tryign to see if your gaining muscle or losing fat.

yes u r strange,, stop torturing yourself,, after u work out you weigh more because of the circulation being at a higher rate,, stop the madness and just be the best u can be to yourself,, expend that energy on doing something productive like hugging yourself

Definately obsessive compulsive tendencies.

Try to avoid it as much as possible. Because if you keep it up you could end up with an eating disorder. Then that could lead to eventually weighing out your own excrement.

YES Not strange, but it sounds like you could have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (or OCD). Perhaps you should speak to a doctor about it. Good luck!

Now u no the wt of u r pee. And also the wt of u r sweat.

You are obsessive compulsive. Try to stop before it gets out of hand. If you can't, see a psychologist. A psychologist is not just for crazy folks like most people believe.

very strange
make it once a week

IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU ARE BEING A LITTLE OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE! WEIGH THAT MUCH CAN ONLY LEAD TO DISAPPOINTMENT! This is not true OCD. A little strange, but no doubt every person does some little thing that others would think is strange. If it worries you that you do this then try to cut back on weighing yourself as much. I wouldn't worry about it though. There's a lot worse things a person could be doing with their time.
