Caffine is known to actually ward off sleep. But too much addiction can cause immunity to its effect, shatter nervous system and then 'seemingly' help getting sleep.
Having nap helps rest for the body, and may not give enough sleep. It takes time for deep sleep states to occur, in a sequence, i.e. body rest, and then sleep, then deep sleep. sometimes, when the mind is disturbed, that night we may not have deep sleep at all.

caffeine keeps you awake. you're better off going to sleep earlier the night before than staying in late in the morning. try exercising more than you normally do that way you're body will be tired you will easily fall asleep.

Well, drinking caffine in the morning will actually make you tired in the afternoon and an afternoon nap with certainly cut into your night time sleep. Try to exercise every morning and see if you don't feel more awake during the day and more ready for bed at night. Best wishes

Well, for one thing, caffine will help you to stay awake so I don't think I'd be drinking that. Your body will tell you when enough is enough. I sleep 5 - 6 hours a night but when I've had a very active day, I need a snooze. Good luck to you

I take an Advil PM almost every day before I go to bed, both for my back pain and to help knock me out. reading a book sometimes helps me sleep too. a guy I work with said his doctor told him to put on a movie that he really likes and is really familiar with, to watch it for about 20 minutes at a low volume level and then to turn away from the television, but leave it playing. he said he's tried it several times and has been out like a light within 15-20 minutes.
See that you solve yopur problems so that you don't have to brood over them when you are supposed to be sleeping. Try meditating too.
Just set it up to where you will have no distrations at all when you try to go to sleep. Also, you will sleep easier if you are active during the day. You might not be old enough, but a beer half an hour before bed helps me to sleep.
For a start you should not be drinking caffeine as it is a stimulant and will KEEP YOU AWAKE. If you are having trouble sleeping try to work out the cause, eg are you worried about something, do you feel ill, etc. If this draws a blank, then try some of the suggestions in the other answers. The worst thing you can do though is go to bed thinking that you won't be able to go to sleep.
