How much does the anti-depressant Lexapro cost and does it require a prescription?

Question:

Answers:
You will need a prescription from a licensed medical doctor in order to get the medication. If you have prescription coverage through your medical insurance, you will have a copay. Without prescription insurance, your cost for a 30 day supply will be about $70-80 per month, according to what I've seen on-line.

If you don't have prescription coverage, some people say that the supplement "St. John's Wort" helps depression.

I used to take that and it really helps. I can't even afford electricity right now, much less lexapro. If I was an illegal alien from mexico, I could get all the care I want, but instead I stupidly chose the route of hard working, home owning taxpayer, and get nothing.

Faith and love only comes to those who god favors. That's why I plan to hang myself tommorow night.

A year ago my ex-girlfriend and I were drinking and fighting. We both had been sober in AA before, but we started drinking together.

Anyway, she left me almost 1 year to the day today. We both went back to AA. Because she's a pretty girl lots of people rallied around her to support. All the men wanted to sleep with her, and some of them convinced her to do it.

She's sober, happy, and has a new boyfriend - my old sponsor. Go figure huh?

I went back the same day. No one shook my hand. No one said hello. No one welcomed me except during the obligitory 'hi bill' at all AA meetings.

I have not made a single friend during the past 3 years. The people who I thought were my friends, are hers. I have no money to pay for counceling nor can I afford any medical attention.

Somehow, the only option I see that will end this pain is to end my life. I plan to hang myself tommorow. I'm sure I wouldn't feel this way if I had access to Lexapro again.
The cost of lexapro depends on if you have insurance or not.Ive taken this antideprssant with and without insurance.with my insurance its only 5.00 dollars.without insurance you need to call around because each drug store is different you would think they are the same but they are not. without insurance youll pay around 25 dollars to 40 dollars if you pay any more than that call another pharmacy.By the way lexapro works very well i took it for about a year and then went off. i just started on them again due to an accident at work but lexapro didnt work this time so i went on prozac. good luck and i hope you find a great price.
Lexapro is a fantastic drug, it practically turned my life around. I am a way better mother, wife and daughter because of it (and because I have let go of some of the anger from my childhood) I have health insurance but when you are one of the masses of working poor, with health insurance that doesn't cover a whole lot you find ways to make due. In my case I have 2 back up plans if I can't afford my RX (p.s. you do need a DR.'s RX), Sometimes the doctor's office will give you free samples (sometime enough for an entire month), or another option for me is my grandfather (he and my grandmother raised me). He is so impressed with the changes in me he told me that if I ever needed the medication and couldn't afford it her would spring for the cost. If you really need the medication I think it's defiantly worth going for it! Good Luck!
