What happens at a social security disability hearing?serious inquiries only?
Question:
Answers:
As a slight correction to the above post -- most disability cases DO go to a hearing. They only don't when they are really obvious (paralysis, that kinda thing.) I'll tell you right now, insomnia and migraines alone are unlikely to get you disability. They will probably have you evaluated for your mental health issues by one of their experts. If they disagree with your doctor's findings, I think you can get a second opinion from an independent evaluator.
Make sure you have your facts straight, make sure your doctors have good reputations (check their rep on your state's DOH site) and bring all your paperwork. Above all, tell the truth. Good luck to you.

Listen....If you have a serious problem they will know it. I have never heard of a disability hearing with a court like that. They must be fighting you and hard.Make sure you have all the back-up infor you need in order to get a yea approval. The Judge will ask you pertinent information about your case so be prepared!
