I dreamed I had AIDS? WTF?

Question:
Last night, I dreamed that I got AIDS somehow. In the dream, I was crying (in real life, I never cry, so that was weird too) and my best friend (who I also fell in love with at one point) was there and just held me for a while, after I let her, because for a while one of my guy friends was holding me, but its still weird. Then I woke up scared until I realized it was a dream. The thing is, I get deja vu a LOT. I'll dream something and then days, weeks, or even years later, it'll happen, and it weirds me out. The whole reason it scared me though is because I have an old habit of cutting. I just recently did it again, and I'm worried that maybe the knife I used.....? What the heck could this mean, or was it just totally random?

Answers:
Dreams are usually not literal, and are often symbolic of something you have a hard time looking at when you are awake. The events and characters in the dream are parts of yourself that you are trying to work out in your dream. So you should look at what getting AIDS and crying means to you. Are you taking risks in waking life that could be dangerous? Are you really depressed about something and feel like you are going to die? It's all symbolic somehow for you and you need to figure out what these things mean to you. It helps to talk it out with someone because sometimes the meaning just jumps out at you once you start to talk about it.
dreams are never simply random things. they are your minds projections of everything that happened to you that day. you know, the whole subconcious thing freud spent his entire life on? well yea, thats real. so maybe youre subconsciously worried that you have aids or some other std? get tested. you can never be too safe with std tests
