I have a friend I think is paranoid. How do I get him to seek professional help?

Question:
He is 25, and just graduated college. He is very smart and nice, but very depressed. He talks about people watching him, he owns an AK47 and recently sold his computer, his stereo and his coin collection to his dad.
I have tried to talk about being depressed or that his fears are scaring me. He just laughs.
His dad is bi-polar, his mother has OCD personality disorder. He doesn't want to imagine he is ill.
How can I help?

Answers:
just sit him down and have a rational talk with him and explain everything that is goin to happen if u seek proffesional help
