This woman sounds obnoxious & obtrusive. Going above her head will only make her vindictive, and you will continue to have to work with her. The only way I would go above her head was if I were also asking for a transfer to another department, if that was possible. Do you have a doctors report which states the actual reasons for your daughters condition? If the info contained is not too personal, perhaps you could leave it laying around where she can find it? She is so opinionated and obnoxious, she will be sure to read it if she finds it. Maybe that would shut her up. Or if that is too personal, you could try (with a honey-drippy voice) say to her next time she brings it up, "Well, I told her Dr. about your theory, and he said.", and list the reasons why she is wrong.

ask her if she has a doctor she would recommend.. that should shut her up. make it clear you want to trust a trained physician. if that doesnt work I would politely tell her you would rather not talk about your daughters health, at work. but then you cant talk to anyone else about it either.
