Currently taking caffergot is it dangerous to just stop usage.?
Question:
Answers:
In rare instances, patients, particularly those who have used the medication indiscriminately over long periods of time, may display withdrawal symptoms consisting of rebound headache upon discontinuation of the drug.
as a general rule this is not along term medication to be taken on a sporadic basis so the answer is no, you should be ok
remeber that Two suppositories is the maximum dose for an individual attack. Total weekly dosage should not exceed 5 suppositories.
Since Cafergot, used to treat prevention of migraines, is taken only intermittently and the medical information shows no indication of adverse affects when stopped, there should be no problem,
I do however, strongly advise you to speak to your doctor about your reasons for stopping, before you stop. If you are having adverse reactions or it is just making you uncomfortable, he/she can find a different medication for you so you will not have to suffer migraines.
