Psychological disorder? Mood swings, HIGH levels of anxiety?

Question:
I'm sixteen years old and I currently suffer from all kinds of things. Worst are my almost unbearable mood swings, from ecstatic one minute to a pathetic emotional wreck the next. Little things set me off and I get stressed very easily. One thing can ruin my day. I've always been very moody, but it hasn't been until recently that I've noticed how much I worry, cry, and how much emotion I experience. At times the depression is a lot to deal with and all I can do is sit here and wish I wasn't alive (though I wouldn't say I'm suicidal).

I'm afraid to talk to my parents about it, as the relationship we have seems to be very superficial and fake. I'd like anyones' opinion on a specific disorder I may be dealing with, and this can go beyond the scope of youqa.com. I wouldn't mind chatting about it, emailing back and forth, whatever.

I believe it's a mood disorder, but I'm not sure what. I'm pretty sure I'm not bipolar, as I don't meet a lot of the symptons.

Thank you for your input.

Answers:
You need to talk to a professional or your parents about this. You may have a hormone disorder of some sort that can be corrected with hormone therapy, or you may just be a typical teenager. Teenage brains are wired differently which can lead to mood swings. High school is incredibly stressful and it is normal to feel anxious. Seriously, talk to a professional since there are many different things that may be causing your feelings.

I'm no doctor, Honey, but I've seen a few things. You could indeed be bi-polar. Or you could have depression or some kind of anxiety disorder- or even a combination.

Since you don't feel you can talk to your parents, find someone you CAN talk to. The cousellors at school are supposed to know a bit, or check the yellow pages. Even a trusted adult might be able to help you work through this. I was very moody at your age too, and still am at times. It's not much fun.

Find help- And good luck!

you need to seek help from phychistrist they will diagnose you by your symptoms. I do think you need some zoloft.
Look up reactive hypoglycemia as a possible cause.
