Other Answers:
when I used to do speeches in school, I would make sure I was really prepared for the speech so that I felt confident in what I was saying.then right before the speech, i would take some deep breaths! Then, when I was up on stage, I would just focus on what I was saying, remembering that I WAS prepared.go confident.
its tough, but it can be done,,join toastmasters,,,thats a great start, its true that ones success is proportionable to their ability to public speak I use to have the same thing. Just prepare yourself well in advance and act it out in your mind. The most important thing is to realize you're doing it for yourself, not to impress anyone else, and no one really cares if you mess up.
weird enough.
masturbate before your speech!!
Talk to yourself outlound in the street or sing. Singing in the shower helps you prepar for this, or even becoming a dominant friend, making plans and deciding what to do that day. Make a close friend with one of the people you and presenting this speech to and keep your focus on them during the speech. rehears till ur very comfortable with the words, wiggle ur toes in ur shoes, and just laugh, if u screw up, so what! everybody does, and if you handle the mess up well, people will think ur really cool. SMILE!
imagine your audience naked, soften them up by a joke.
I was the same way. Just do like I did and still do.look like your looking at people but your really looking above their heads. I know it might sound crazy but it really works!
Realize that if you mess up it's not the worst thing in the world - believe me - in 6th grade I did every single move backwards in a song - and I wasn't laughed at. It was only until I saw the video that I realized what I had done. Or maybe to take it a step further imagine yourself as an eagle - flying through the sky and in total control. Just concentrate on peaceful images and going over what you need to say and you'll be fine. It is now that I have no stage fright. Join a local chapter of ToastMasters International. It's a friendly, supportive group that is dedicated to helping members work on their public speaking skills. They have manuals that will help you work of specific elements of public speaking. As a former member, I can promise you that the members are truly helpful and participating will improve your comfort and abilities with public speaking.
Taking slow and deep breaths through your nose will signal your parasympathetic nerves to calm your mind and body. Meditation is also a good relaxation technique.
Catnip, chamomile, cramp bark, kava kava, hops, linden flower, motherwort, passionflower or skullcap are helpful herbs to promote relaxation and aid in preventing panic attacks.
Good luck! Prepare ur speech by understanding the topic u r given. Photograph in ur mind about the different items you are to say like a movie camera. One you know ur speech. Take a chair in your house stand on it say your speech, a couple of times, changing the direction of the chair. Then make use of a recording machine, and give the speech, standing in the chair (the podium). Check ur recording if you have made any mistake correct it and repeat the process, the first speech may be time consuming, but you will be through subsequently
