deep muscle relaxation techniques?
Question:
Answers:
Hello..I agree with your psychologist that a very good ,natural way of coping with anxiety, especially sudden one is the deep relaxation (there are other techniques that work great and are not only for muscle relaxation).I use Yoga assanas and deep breathing.I think your specialist must told you about all in details,if not he has to.As to your question,it's very simple..Better lie down comfortly, try not to think about nothing, start with the rythmical breathing. Then try to contract and release your muscles beginning from your toes till your neck..again and again..Best of luck!!

I am very familiar with this- called Jacobson- it is inly useful if you have muscle tension. However, anxiety van effect heart rate, sweat, respiration, imune system so on a scale of one to ten it is only a 3 or 4. Can't be more. Try biofeedback, yoga, relaxation tapes. Check out the just released self help movie "Guide to GSR Biofeedback Techniques for the Natural ADHD Practitioner". There are many different exercises in the two CD kit. With Amazon.com
