Why do I sleepwalk as an adult?

Question:
I am only 20, about to turn 21 in 2 months. I had a habit of sleepwalking as a child. I stopped when I turned 13. I always thought that was a normal childhood thing. I did mumble in my sleep at times when I was 15 and 16 years old. However, I started taking Paxil CR when I 17. During the time, when I was 19, I started to be withdrawn from tegh medicine. I felt like I didn't need it for my depression and I felt better. My therapist agreed.

Then, one night, I found myself standing by my door in the middle of the night. I woke up with pain on my upper arm. I walked into the door in my sleep. I blamed the Paxil. Then several months later, after I was off Paxil, I found myself standing in my room. I was asleep. I woke up wondering how I got there. This time I was completely off of Paxil.

Answers:
Sounds like something else is triggering your sleep walking.

Are you under different levels of stress than you were between the ages of 13 and 19?

Are you taking any other meds like sleeping pills?

Have you stopped or started drinking more or less alcohol?

There are many things that could be causing this...

Other Answers:
Probably stress.
A lot of people sleep walk on nights following a stressful couple of days when they have not gotten enough sleep. If you can reduce your stress and try to have a regular sleep schedule that should help.
