Any suggestions for picking up my mood on a rainy day when I have no energy to get up out of bed?

Question:
I have seasonal affective disorder but I am looking for activities or affirmations not drugs to help me.

Answers:
I also struggle with my emmotions during the dreary parts of the year but I try to work out a routine such as excercising, trying to eat healthy, seeing friends on a regular basis, etc... The thing that helps me the most is getting out of bed and doing something but it has to be meaningful to you. So if there is an acticvity that you really like or feel really good after it, schedule time to do it and do in on a regular basis. I hope this helps and I wish you the best of luck.

Other Answers:
take a jog (well not today, its raining). running everyday will tell your brain to boost your energy.
I would love to be able to stay in bed on a rainy day.
Have you thought of going the nutritional route?

Take time off , grab the Bible start as soon as you wake up reading Genesis 1:1 and read as much as you can. God Bless you I will be praying for you
.....simple daily meditations.....they really do work and.... ALWAYS.....have a desire 2 help others daily in THEIR lives.....its the SPIRIT that drives people not the weather......ya i know PEOPLE can be ASSHOLES.....but there the best MEDS people have...SOMEHOW take them with a spoonful of sugar and not a grain of SALT !
I think most people are affected by this in some way I know that for years it really bothered me too
So I went out in it and faced it ---thick clothes, waterproof coats and boots ,thick gloves and went walking . I learned to love bad weather and you meet such nice people out there too mostly with dogs and lovely red faces. And then you go into a shopping centre and the light ,or a cafe and light and noise just somewhere full of brightness. Up to an indoor swimming pool if it gets very bad, or pay the money and join a gym so that you have somewhere light bright and happy to go to.. There is no real cure for this ,you just have to learn to ignore the weather--I mean you can't hide in bed for half your life, just get out there into bright places and try to forget the day is dull
willingness is the key to have a good day ahead of you. you can psyche yourself to be in a good mood and be happy. also think of happy thoughts that could bring you up out of your bed, happy thoughts that could brighten up your day; and think of something like any activity that could gives you something to look forward too. :)
call a friend or watch a funny movie.
