Probably read alot, do crosswords and write poetry.
Read books, do crosswords, go for walks outside (if allowed), I'd probably take up smoking again, write poetry or in a journal, play cards, do jigsaw puzzles, watch TV, try to find a friend, anything to keep my mind occupied.
smear my feces on the wall
Might be hard to have "fun" in a place like that, but I think I would try to do something relaxing. I enjoy creative outlets like photography, drawing and painting. I'd probably catch up on my reading too...there are alot of classic novels I never seem to find the time to read....out here in the real world.
Unique question! I would read, read and read. Something trashy, something to learn from, something funny.

some kind of a hobby such as sewing,, reading, crafts, art or writing just because you have a mental illness does not mean you can't do things manage your symptoms and the sky is the limit
I would paint with watercolors. Painting and sculpting helps a person release unknown and known demons.
When I was in one I filled out the MMPI test - they gave it to me
to answer for the next days activities.
You could take something to read, like a book - but beware!
Alot of people in these places like to steal! I had my pajamas
stolen within 1 hour of my arrival! I was appaled! But they look
for this stuff. some are actually that bad off.
You could also sleep - if they put you on meds and you've never
taken them before - they could cause you to get to sleep. I did
that for 5 days. It helped with the stress.
You also can join a group - and discuss why you are there in the
first place. You never go into a place like this and do "nothing"
as a rule. They like you to participate....
color in books (coloring books etc) with bright colors, read short stories-short stories allow for interruption to go to groups or whatever- write a book fictionalize my life hope if someone has to go to a facility that the environment is not all Grey and depressing-that is why u color in bright colors....analyze all the other patients (not out loud! just in your head or with visitors hahah) participate in whatever they have to offer to use up time sleep good luck
