Adderall XR...can anyone tell me what kind of sidde effects they have experienced?

My brother has just been placed on Adderall XR for ADD. However, since he has began taking it he seems to me more hot natured and sweats more easily. Has anyone else had this problem?

I am an adult with ADD. Haven't taken the XR, but have been on Adderall generic (anphetamine salt) for over two years now. Adderall is a stimulant (just like "speed") and can be very addictive if not monitored by a careful physician, which it sounds like your brother might have. Some side effects I noticed (in various levels, until I got the dosage right)
1) Bursts of anger
2) False sense of euphoria
3) Sweating
4) Loss of appetite/dramatic weight loss
5) Increased sexual desire (doesn't sound bad, but it was)

This, and others. But when the dosage was finally found that worked (took several months) I can focus and work like never before. I have worked in education for several years and have had young boys on stimulants for their ADD. One was so bad he actually foamed at the month in the morning. The answer was simple as making sure he ate. He was on a high dose of stimulant, and nobody suggested he NOT take it on an empty stomach!?!? Of couse, this must be handled delicatly, as stimulats generally make people feel good, regardless of their behavior.
