Look at lifestyle and diet. Esp drink and drugs.
Some alone time (half hour a day really useful).
Oh yeah, and EXERCISE!!!
Literally a life saver.

Lots of exercise, better diet, no alcohol, and Lexipro or Celexa if the previous don't work.
bottle of brandy
Change whatever it is in your life that needs changing. Pills dont work. Exercise more, eat well and avoid alcohol.
Be brave and do whatever it takes.

a 5 skin spliff
Exercise, start off by taking a long walk in the countryside, eat low fat,and talk to someone.
Read the book 'Why me, why this, why now' by Robin Norwood
Step out from the woe is me cycle and learn about sociology, psychology, history, philosophy.. learn that your woes are insignificant in the great scheme of things
Do more for those less fortunate..
Write a wish list - but don't include false needs like expensive or flashy material possessions
Write about how you feel.. realise that we all have our problems and that there is no happy ever after for most people. Everyone has moments of happiness, moments of anger, moments of sadness etc
Best of luck..

There are no cures only treatments such as anti-depressives and anti-anxiety (which are very addictive) drugs. You can learn relaxation techniques for anxiety, which are very effective.
However determining the type of depression you have need the advice of a doctor. There is common depression, which we all get sometimes.like feeling blue. This usually lasts a short period of time and can resolve itself. Clinical depression is caused by an imbalance of certain chemicals in the brain...such as serotonin and anti-depressives are the only solution...but not always a cure. Seek medical help...please...u don't have to suffer.

Observing Yourself
depression usually seems to come for no apparent reason and from nowhere at all. Research has been clearly presented that positive events or activities lead to positive moods, while negative events lead to depression. The depressed person must accept the fact that this is so, amidst having thoughts that the depressed feeling sprung out from nowhere. So rate your mood on a 1 to 10 degree and keep a record every day of positive events and circumstances. It is likely that your mood will mirror what is happening in your life.

Evaluating Yourself
Exercise and meditate
You must not overlook the effectiveness of psychological treatment. Many extensive studies and investigations conclude that psychological treatment, such as improving social skills, increasing enjoyable activities, and correcting negative thoughts, can produce better long-term outcomes than drugs. So, don't think that psychology is just a cheap, second-rate source of help for depression; intent research states that psychotherapy is the best treatment you can find but, like drugs, psychotherapy doesn't work for everybody.
there is no cure it takes time see the dr good luck
Zoloft apparently works for both.
get a new life
This may sound sad but it worked for me, I got the people closest to me to wright down what they thought about me and the way I am. I also used to put my feelings into the book, then when things got too much I'd read them. It gives you a lift to know that people around you are there for you and care a grate deal. It also helps to know that when you're feeling down, you've had worse days, and got through them. Hope you feel better soon:)
