how common is sleep paralysis, and y do some people suffer more from it??
Question:
Answers:
Sleep paralysis is extremely common. Theres is no known reason why some people suffer more but ...almost every person suffers from Sleep paralysis atleast a couple of times in his/her lifetime.
It usually happens during dayime naps, or if someone is under tremedous stress...so much that its affecting thier sleep schedules and stuff. Probably these people may suffer more than people who have a healthy lifestyle and sleep habbits.

people suffer from it more than they think.
I get it quite a lot, usually after I've been drinking. You get it more often if u sleep on you back 4 some reason.
i have used to have it when i was having my A level exams it stress related. . . its awful people think that they are getting raped by aliens cos they cant move (i have a friend that did her disertation on it)
I used to have it when I was in my late teens. Horrible.
Just as I was dropping off (and sometimes waking up) I'd be unable to move or speak, and would sometimes have hallucinations.
Personally, I think sleep paralysis accounts for many "ghostly" sightings.
I damn well hope I don't get it. I've heard about it, but I heard that it isn't that common, although someone was documented to have it about 4-6 times per week.
I don't know, I've never had it.
i remeber that happening to me...i had just given birth to my oldest son..and i was at my parents at the time then..and i could hear my dad walking out side my bedroom..and im like trying to call him but nothing is comin out my mouth i was paralised..omg the feeling was so scary...theres this saying that if you sleep with your hands and legs straight...thats when this happens...its best to sleep on your side...then some ppl say its a ghost who has entered your body and thats the reason you get paralised...i dont believe in stuff like that...just heard ppl say things like that though
I had a spell for a short period then they stopped.
Used to try & shout out etc, couldnt move, very disturbing.
I agree that a lot of ghostly, alien sightins derive from this.
Prob stress related.
It used to happen to me just before I dropped off, very frightening. Hasn't happened for about 15years or so.
every1, apart from those that sleepwalk get sleep paralysis, its wot happens after you enter a deep sleep, sort of like an evolution thing, as we were once monkeys we slept in trees, and you dnt wnt too fall out of a tree during your sleep, mind you it doesnt allways work. its like that thing where your laying in bed then all of a sudden your body jolts, scientists think this is so that when we were monkeys it would test our reaction skills, in case we fell off, thats y u find yourself going to grab somethin if that happens!!!
I once woke up and couldn't move at all. It felt like there was an invisible man pinning me down. Scary!
