What should I do about my social anxiety?
Question:
Answers:
I can relate! Boy can I relate! It's not fun having/suffering from anxiety. There are medications that can help BUT.I do not use medications.
What you are experiencing though is more paranoia. I too feel that others are judging me with what I wear, how I look, what I'm doing etc..the BEST thing I have found to overcome this is to ask myself this; "Is what I'm doing in life pleasing to God?" If I can answer "yes" then I don't need to worry what anyone else says or thinks. It's only GOD I need to be pleasing towards.
I advise that you get involved in a good Bible based church and allow your church family to help you raise your self esteem.
I do hope this helps.
God Bless

You should not worry about what people think of you to begin with..
If y ou are a nice person fun to be around you should not worry about being judged in a negative way. You should ask your family and friends what they think of you and that is really what everyone else will think. You should try not to be as shy and as long as you get your work all done there shouldn't be a problem
Hurt someone! You must be polish!
I have been there, and will always be. I have finally found another good doctor after going without for awhile. The meds quit working after while, especially when life throws rough patches into the mix. Reach out, as you are now there is help out there where you least expect it. Try the national institute for mental health.

Me, myself & I!
Hang in there. Do you have professional help access? If not then try small steps. Start with walking to your front door and looking out. Then open the door. Work on these slowly. Take deep breathes and relax. Stop your mind from spinning around and around. How ever as you are working on this also work on yourself esteem and remeber that God does NOT make junk! You are not junk and God does love you and is waiting for you to seek him.
Sometimes worrying about something ( anxiety ) makes the actual problems worse.
Know for a fact that MOST people deal with their own insecurities every day; even those who seem to possess limitless self-confidence and seem to have the perfect lives are worried about how they're perceived. Most of us have self-esteem issues for one reason or another and are fearful of rejection. You are not alone. You're travelling in a sea of people who feel just like you do.
I know you said you've tried meds. Have any of your doctors prescribed Paxil to you? I took it for 6 months back in 1993 after I had my son and felt too insecure to even leave my own house! It was a short-term solution while I worked through post-partum depression, and I've survived without medication since. I say "survived" because I still go through periods of low self-worth and feelings of extreme inadequacy. I simply look around, know that there will ALWAYS be those who are better off and worse off than myself, regardless of the status I attain, and I hold my head up and ACT like Im the most likeable, beautiful, and intelligent woman on the planet. Life is all just an act; if you wish to achieve something you sometimes have to act like you're already at the top of your world.
well can i join your club because im the same way it sucks sooooooooo bad mail me darreostewart@yahoo.com
See a Psychologist and they can help you reach your goals. Really they can plus if medicine does not work you can also try a diet change or maybe it is not Social Anxiety, who knows maybe you are Bipolar or PTSD. You can also help yourself by doing Dance, Yoga, Art or some kind of other thing like Baseball or ping pong any activity you get some exercise or a nice relaxing happy break!
We are all someone else' "others". I guess that people talk and communicate with other people in order to identify themselves. At the end of a day, everyone needs to face and take care of the self. The "otherness" cannot be as essential as the "I". And we are all other people's "otherness" as well, how about that we just take care of ourselves first, and make a peace with the sense of self?

Look no one is perfect. We have our dark sides and bright sides.it's not only you.there are many.but as you make friends you begin to see the their shortcomings and it becomes easier to relate. That how it began for me.
hang in there, u r like this for a reason. Is kind of like a protection. also u might b sensitive to more than what is on the surface, examine the ppl u are around that make u feel nervous-thers a reason for it. I would say u have been set apaprt, and seek God in this. Do u really want to be free from this? In Gods time u will be, i feel this kind of fear is also a protection against following the crowd. I know if i dint hav thsi fear i could hav done a lota crazt stuff. Dont look for meds or doctors to help u, they may only confuse you, Seek Jesus for an answer, He knows ur troubles, and it will work out for good. Focus on ur good traits, releae that nervous energy thru art or somethin. Sleep less, eat proper -no caffeine or bottled soda. Use this fear as a guide-but if u dont want it aqsk God to take it away. There is more to life that we fight, than we can see. God BLess u, stay encouraged a lot of ppl r goin thru exactly what u do, and nearly every1 feels sum degree of this kind of social anxiety
