My mind keeps telling me if I dont do this then this bad thing will happen and i eventually end up doing it?

Like when I switch the light on my mind tells me to switch the light back off and on otherwise this person will die or something bad and I end up doing it just to get over it and be relieved of it. This is just an example but things like these happen a fews times in a day. How can I cure myself out of this? What is this called? Any tips for getting out of this?

You have a mild obsessive compulsive disorder. When you feel yourself needing to do something just because you feel compelled to, ask yourself the question "will it really make a difference if I do it or not?" Try and stop yourself from acting compulsively. You have to change your mindset. You have to tell yourself NO!

You have obsessive compulsive disorder. I am afraid it is very difficult to get over, but maybe if you know it is a disorder and try very hard you can get over it. You know nothing bad will happen if you do not switch off the light but it causes such anxiety that you cannot live without doing it. Some people take medicine for it, and it may or may not work. it sounds a lot like a disease called O.C.D (excessive compulsive disorder)
you might want to see a doctor and Tell them about it (they have heard it all before, don't be shy)
It is called obsessive compulsive disorder, and the treatment is easy, just go to a psychiatrist.
