why do we go on a sub conscious mood when we drive - at one point our car is driven by an auto mode?

Totally feel you. Sometimes I get somewhere and can't even remember driving the route there cause my mind was miles away. It's the darnest thing. It's like i am paying attention to the road, yet lost in my thoughts..Atleast I'm no the only one out there!

Oooh, you're scaring me. Not really, many, if not most drivers, get sucked into complacency. Warning, driving a car is serious business. It's a life and death situation. If you're relying on your subconscious to drive, you're dangerous. The basics like steering, signaling, braking etc. can be left up to the auto mode, but you should always be aware of what the other drivers are doing around you. Never, ever let this become automatic.. 'nuff said? I don't like putting the car in that mode I like to be in control
