Please answer if you are bipolar - I need to help?

Unfortunately, there is nothing you can really do Until he seeks the help he needs, he probably will not get better, and probably get worse. The medication is the key, because this condition is truly an imbalance of the chemicals in the brain. I struggled for 4+ years with the depression, slept around the clock and wouldn't leave house.wouldn't bath or let any of my friends in my house or talk to them on the phone. I was taking the medication, but the docs hadn't found the right combination for me yet. Bi-Polar disorder has a very high suicide rate, so I would encourage you to try to get him some help. What he is going through (if he is depressed) is extremely difficult to come out of, and from my experience nearly impossible. Good luck to you and your friend.

its not your job to help him. all you can do is show him the world and maybe one day he'll decide to get up and get a job
me and him are 2 peas in a pod!..i swear i didnt know theyre was someone else just like me out there.. nice to know! I would tell you to have him call me but i dont answer my phone either.lol he'll be ok.just let him be.
I have bi-polar as well. I'm really sorry, but no matter what someone says or how caring they are, it just won't get the person out of their state of depression. My mom would plead with me to just go out to take a walk with her, I only did it because it was my mom. I felt so so awful, getting out and walking didn't help me at all, I just wanted to be in bed, I had absolutely no interest in anything. Also stopped eating altogether. I don't know which is worse, the depression or the mania. I think the best thing you can do is just try talking him into seeing his doctor. When I got myself to the doctor (I was also taking the meds I was supposed to at the time), I just needed my meds adjusted. He just added one pill, I think it was called Effexor, I swear it's a miracle, it took 2 weeks to really help, but I just slowly came out of it, I was so grateful. Just be supportive of him, tell him how much you care. Only the medication will truly help him, as you know it's all chemical. I'll pray for him.
Please don't listen to the people that say just let him be or nothing you can do. if he is bipolar and not taking his medication there is nothing good that come out of this he may be starting a cycle. a depressive one caused by seeing his child and not wanting to face the problems that come with that. i know there may be many. missing them etc. Are u not in the same town that is why u cant go to his house? does he live alone? if not can u talk to someone else there? unless he says he is thinking about hurting himself there is nothing u can really do. but just email him or phone him and tell him how much you care and that he needs to take his meds and that u think he is on a cycle and you don't wanna see him go down a hard and long path. if he likes going online have him visit some sites that deal with bi-polar issues and hopefully he can see he is in a cycle and go to his Dr or therapist and get help. not taking your meds isn't good never is. please let me know if this helps.
