excersice, vigorouly. if you are really angry, try not looking/talking to the person you are angry with becuase if you do have rage, you will probably go ballistic.

That's why I spend so much time here.
You should try to find a healthy release for the rage. Try exercising. Contact sports are a great option. I know of people who boxed and it helped with rage issues. An occasional catharsis might be good as well. You should also journal about your feelings. Writing things down helps you to release emotion, gather/organize your thoughts, and recognize patterns. i shred paper into itsy bitsy pieces and each piece represents something that irked me or play with fireworks and blow some stuff up
Stop taking yourself so seriously.
Maturity. I used to have a temper I even threatened my boss. I almost got fired and it made me realize I am not going to let others control me. that is what it is about control.
i sleep on it.and most of the times try to ignore it.and most of the times i'm successful medication... kidding . Some times i just ask a friend if i could "vent" for like 20min or i turn it into a sarcastic comment as long as i recognize why im feeling the way i do i can reason with myself so i don't freak out

All stress (in this case rage) is a result of focusing on past or present. When you focus on the past your focusing on some horrible experience you may have had or something that you did that you feel guilty about. When you focus on the future you're worrying about things that have not happened yet or you're looking to some future time when you'll finally be happy thereby robbing any possibility of true happiness right now. The trick is to try to be present in the now and experience it at it's fullest. If you pin point your focus in the now most of your stress will go away.
If that doesn't work go to a SLAYER concert or listen to them on your stereo very loudly. Slayer f'in rules!
Rage, rage against the dieing of the light
first you have to understand rage, Rage (emotion), an extreme, energized usually explosive state of anger.
it is beyond anger, but it is not a bad thing, for even our creator (God) uses rage. it is a self defence mechanisms, that is triggered when great wrong or injustice is inflicted upon us.
to help cope with rage you need to understand what is the source of the rage.
once you know what is causing then you need to determine the best way to deal with it.
it sounds corny but remember when we where younger in Junior Kindergarden the teacher would send you to the corner well, now that we are older try counting to 10 slowly.
once you settle down use the energy created from rage to determine what the best possible course of action needs to be taken to right the right the wrong or injustice.
a controlled rage is unstoppable us that power and knowledge to help in the present and to prevent future occurrences.
that's just my perspective.
expressing any pent up anger/rage constructively is beneficial to one and people around us. we can never express anger without hurting others. so we have to responsible, exercise our discretion on what to blowup and what not to. we have a choice in life.
being rational always helps to combat the unbridled rage within us and then understand the reason behind the rage that is about to go out of proportions. this understanding gives you a clear cut route to fight/ tackle the impulse positively or constructively. we have our own ways of coping with stresses of life.like i listen to headbanging music, somehow the shouts of the singers seem to release or suppress the rage within me.
read about Freud's "defense mechanisms" and how they work, he has done extensive work on <id, ego and superego> parts of mind and impulses we have and how we express them over a course of a lifetime.
