I'm going to a psychologist for the first time in 30 minutes.. I'm nervous?
Question:
Answers:
I have no idea why you're scared. But seeing a psychologist isn't so bad. It's a good way to let out feelings, without having to worry about being judged. If you have a good psychologist, he/she wont make you feel judged at all. Hang in there, Everything will be ok.
Other Answers:
don't be! you will be fine. If you have some problem it is good to talk about it. good luck
You felt like you were out of control. you didn't know what was going to happen good or bad at the event, and it scared you. You will realize soon that you're in full control of the event and anything that could possibly happen you have control of. You're not going to die, or be insulted. If the position doesn't suit your needs you can quit. If you don't like something in the situation or feel uncomfortable, you can be excused or leave. You know that you have full control of anything that could arise, it's not too much of a bother anymore.
because you're CRAZY!!!!!!!!!
Fear of the unknown. You'll be fine. God Bless.
Because this person is going to try to unravel "YOU" but don't worry they're here to help you out with whatever you're going through, take a box of tissues, because it can get intense, but nothing to be afraid about. It'll be like getting on a roller coaster, you're afraid in line but once you're on the ride then over the ride, you'll feel elated and light! glgl
be careful - take everything they say with a grain of salt.
remember psychologists make more money the more times you come back. They loose money if you get better! That's a conflict of interest very very few get beyond.
its always normal to be scared of the unexpected. you dont know what to expect, so youre exhibiting some nerves. dont worry though - psychologists are basically there to listen to you and your problems, and to give you advice on how to handle your problems. they are also there to give medical advice on any medications you should look into, but they will not write any prescriptions for any medication (only psychiatrists can do that). basically, you will be talking to someone abotu what's on your mind and getting some good feedback from a trained professional on how to cope. today, being your first appointment, will probably be a 'getting to know you' type meeting where you will tell him/her about yourself and maybe get into some issues that may be on your mind. good luck!
Well relax It could be worse if this was 1936 Germany but this is 2006 and we are allowed to live.
How do you feel when you go to see a dentist i wonder?
How'd it go?
Be calm. Dont tell your life story in your first trip to the office. Just in case you dont like him/her. You can choose a different DR. and not go through your whole little crappy life all over again.
Seeing someone you have to be so candied with is scary but remember she/he is there to help not hurt you, so be as honest and open as possible, this way they can help you, ask lots of questions, you want to make sure this person is someone you will feel comfortable speaking with on a regular bases.
You're about to do something that you haven't done before and it involves talking about very personal things (even some that you may have a hard time talking about or even thinking about) to a stranger, so it's normal that you're nervous. I think it will be hardest the first time and next time it will be easier because you will know you have nothing to be nervous about. :)
I hope your first appointment went well.
