What do you think these symptoms are caused by?

Question:
tired, irritable, moody, anger easily, likes to be alone, distrustful, secretive, never emotional, indecisive, avoids confrontation or discussions about anything serious,

Answers:
Ugh! I hate it when the first thing that comes to mind is PMS. While these symptoms do come with PMS, you don't usually have all of them at once and they usually only last a day or so. If you were a man asking this question, no one would have listed PMS as a possible cause to your troubles.

It sounds like these symptoms are a form of depression. A lot of people use the word "depression" as a synonym for "sad", but this isn't the case. Depression is a mental imbalance that affects much more than just your level of happiness. Just to give you an idea:

I've been medicated for depression for nearly six years and I just recently tried to stop taking my medication, so my alter-ego is fresh on my mind...

-I'm always tired. I could sleep until noon, get up and then take a nap a few hours later. No matter what I do, I can barely drag my a** out of bed.

-My frustrations and irritability are out of control. If I can't reach something on the top shelf, it turns to full on...

-RAGE. The other day, I couldn't find the tortilla chips in the grocery store. I started to feel the fury in my arms and the blood rushing to my head. I wanted to punch the first person that I could find. The anger is uncontrollable. It's bigger than I am.

-I love to be alone and I don't want anyone touching me. My self-esteem is generally pretty low and I feel disgusting and unworthy of being in the company of other people.

-I'm personally OVERLY emotional and cry all the time, but at the same time, there's a level of apathy where I walk down the street and I could simply care less about what's going on around me. It feels like I'm in a fog. I feel like nothing can affect me.

I'm not sure if you're listing these symptoms for yourself or someone else, but whoever is experiencing these things should see a doctor-- preferably a psychiatrist who can refer you to therapy and/or prescribe medication if necessary.

**It's nothing to be ashamed of... I can't tell you how much happier I am to be "on the other side" Good luck!
