Serious Question Please if you have a serious answer read..?

Question:
I am one of those people who worries about EVERYTHING. Even stuff that hasnt happened or might not happen. Im always thinking well "what if this happens" or "what if that happens". I feel like everyones out to get me. I dont know why, ive had alot of bad experiances with alot of different stuff happening in my past and i have a fear of these things happening again. I just cant quit worrying. Its running my life. Ive tryed to talk to my mom about it and tell her how im feeling with the hopes that that would help me feel better but she kinda just blows me off and tells me to quit worrying. Also i try to talk to my boyfriend and he does the same thing, but sometimes he makes remarks about stuff im worried about that hurts my feelings. So my question is how can i get this worrying me to go away? What do you do to releive worrying? Thanks for anyone who answers this seriously. Im to the point that i just dont know what to do anymore, im so sad all the time just thinking about stuff happenin

Answers:
I am sorry that worry is taking over your life. I, too am a worrier. I was making myself physically ill with worry.

I decided I needed help and went to a counselor. She helped me with some coping exercises and some skills that enabled me to overcome a lot of my worrying. (like planning ahead, talking about my worries with my co-workers and spouse). Also, breathing exercises are good, too- they calm you down.

Check your yellow pages under counseling and book an appointment. I would go to a Psychologist or Psychiatrist. Many of the counseling groups take people regardless of ability to pay.
I think talking to a professional counselor will be a big help to you.

Good luck and take care! You can overcome this!:)

A man goes to a shop, picks up a beautiful cup and says "my god this cup is so beautiful" and suddenly the cup starts talking to the man. The cup starts saying "O man, I am beautiful right now, but what was the state of my being before the pot-maker made me a beautiful pot?

Before I was sheer mud and the pot-maker pulled me out of the mud from the mother earth and I felt why that pot-maker is so cruel, he has separated me from mother earth. I felt a tremendous pain. And the pot-maker said, "Just wait." Then he put me and churned me, when I was churned I felt so giddy, so painful, so stressful, I asked the pot-maker "Why are you so cruel?" the pot-maker said, "Just wait." Then he put me into a oven and heated me up, I felt completely burnt. There was tremendous pain and I asked the pot-maker "Why are you so cruel?" and the pot-maker said, "Just wait."

Then he poured hot paint on me and I felt the fume and the pain, I again asked the pot-maker "Why are you so cruel?" and the pot-maker said, "Just wait." Then again he put me into an oven and heated it to make me more strong, I felt life is so painful hence pleaded the pot-maker and the pot-maker said, "Just wait." And after that the pot-maker took me to the mirror and said, "Now look at yourself". And surprisingly I found myself so beautiful.

When god gives us lot of trouble, it appears god is very cruel but we need patience and we have to wait. When bad things happen to good people, they become better and not bitter.

So all difficulties are part of a cosmic design to make us really beautiful. We need patience, we need understanding, we need the commitment to go through in a very calm and wise way. So all difficulties are not to tumble us but to humble us.

With this understanding, let us not be against difficulty. Understand difficulty is a part of a purifying process. A purifying process at present which we cannot understand and hence we need faith and we need trust.

Let us understand how to handle stress with this background. You can be affected by stress from two angles. There is an internal stress and there is an external stress. Nobody can avoid stress; one has to only manage stress. Managing stress can be internal and also external.

The internal stress is; your thoughts can create stress, your values can create stress, and your beliefs can create stress, meaning thereby your stress is coming from your mind more from the outer world. Many people suffer not from heart attack - they suffer from thought-attack.

For example, when somebody says you are an idiot, we get so hurt, we get so victimised. My boss has called me an idiot and I am feeling tremendous pain. Now where does this stress come from? If my boss has called me an idiot, I have to ask myself "am I an idiot"?

If I am an idiot nothing to be upset about; and if I am not an idiot, then also nothing to be upset about! It is the perception of the boss. But why do we suffer from that stress? I suffer not because my boss has called me an idiot but because of the thought-attack.

I may say the boss has called me an idiot; therefore I am suffering? It is true that the words are unpleasant. But what hurts is the interpretation of the unpleasant word. The thought in me interprets. That is pain and therefore it becomes pain. Much of our stress is our mind interpreting it as pain. So we suffer from thought-attack more than heart attack.
You probably need medicine that treats depression, even though your case probably isn't depression. The only way i think you can cure this is by medication. Go to your doctor.
You need professional help sweetie...to help you understand WHY you worry. There's a root cause in there somewhere and once you learn what that is, you can work on overcoming it and many of the worries will go away.

Most people worry some...it's natural...but to worry about everything, even things that haven't come about or might never, is a recipe in insanity...

Try to figure out why you worry. What has happened that makes you fear just about everything? What is it specifically that you fear?
It is so easy to stress ourselves out by looking at and accepting all of the negative reporting in the world. Sounds silly, but you can make great strides in bettering your resistance to such negativity by focusing on the good. I felt like this at a point in my life. When I met some friends at work and they wanted to go out all the time I felt like something bad was going to happend all the time. I finally learned to deal with it and realized that bad things can happen at any time, even if I do stay home to try and avoid it. Your just going to have to try to break out of it and say "what the hell, let's go for it." It really is all in your head and being a pessimist is really not attractive I learned that the hard way.
A lot of people suffer from constant worry so please don't feel like you are the only one. There are a lot of good medications that can help with anxiety, please consider talking to your doctor about getting something. In the meantime try making a list of things you are worried about....I have found if I can get things out of my head and on paper I don't have to worry about them as much. Try taking up a hobby like yoga (try doing this on your own) it can help you learn to focus while quieting your mind. I hope this helps.
Give your life to Jesus and then everything that comes your way has to go through Jesus first and Jesus decides what to let through. That way no matter what happens you will know it is God's will and it will all be okay and be for your good or someone elses. No matter if it is painful at the time. You will never have to be afraid anymore because your life is in Jesus' hands. And he takes the first blows. All things work for good for thos that love the Lord. He loves you!
sounds like you have some significant anxiety going on. i can totally relate. i've been in therapy since last september and my anxiety is a bit improved. i'm on an antidepressant/antianxiety med also. my biggest recommendation would be for you to get a notebook, diary, journal, random scrap paper and start writing. i love it. it was my therapist's first suggestion to me. i write everyday. sometimes i don't have much to say but i talk to the paper as if it's a person, just get out all the crap in your head and put it on paper. if this helps but minimally, i'd seriously consider getting some counseling. if you're mom doesn't get you help you can have her reported. and for your boyfriend, it doesn't sound like he has that much respect for you as he is not taking seriously your concerns, you should confront him on that. although i know that would cause a lot of anxiety, it should be pointed out to him that he hurts you when he doesn't take you seriously. i wish you well.

maybe u need to see a Doctor tel Ur mom that u want to see one and if she doesn't take it serious than just go see one Ur self fine one near u sorry that u feel that way all the time. take care know
I feel the same way, but my worrying is due in part to OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) which causes me to constantly think about negative thoughts and the dreadful what -if's. But, thanks to medicine and counseling, I find somewhat relief. But all that aside, I find that dwelling on the what-if's is what makes it much worse. Try not to think so much and dwell on it. Do things to take your mine off the negative stuff or when you find yourself thinking too much do something to take your mind off stuff. If that does'nt work then I suggest you see a counselor who you can talk to and maybe he can direct you to a support group as well. Let them pass as soon as they come in and don't DWELL. Good Luck!!
I do this too but it was much worse when I was younger than it is now. You may want to consider going to a licensed therapist or counselor. He or she can help you find the root of your worrying. You will feel better after talking to someone who has studied these issues and who is trained in solving them. Good luck!.

P.S. Tell your boyfriend to be more supportive or hit the road!
Sounds like an anxiety disorder. I agree with the answers one gave about trials and tribulations needed to make us who we are ...but I also think sometime we need meds !! God can deliever us from any problem, but until he does, he has put doctors and medications in place to help us. Talk to a doctor please!
I know exactly what your talking about, being a worrier myself pretty much my whole life. First you have think what will change if you worry about this problem or that problem or who said what, what will you gain from it. Most of what we worry we have no control over, the past is in the past you can't change it, change what you can in the future, then let it go, you'll always have different opinon then someone else, let it be what you believe in and this is what they believe in. Don't worry about what people say or think about you, ALL EASIER SAID THEN DONE. Most important, try to mediate everyday, they have some great mediation tapes you can buy now at book stores. ALSO A GREAT BOOK TO READ AND FOLLOW, it will be your bible is called "THE FEELING GOOD BOOK" By: David Burns. It really outlines anxiety, worrying to much and gives some really easy to follow proven steps in how to try and stop the demons that make us worry to much.
Don't be afraid to seek counseling. It's not scary.

I went once before. I had a lot of very traumatic things happen at once. So, I went to a counselor just so that I could be sure I was able to handle it all without falling into a deep or dangerous depression. I just went, we sat down, and started tallking. For me, after a couple meetings, she determined that my level of depression was normal for what I was going through. But I needed to be sure.

Just go, start talking. Answer any questions honestly. Sometimes talking with someone in the right setting can help put things into perspective. That could be all you need is for someone to listen and ask the right questions. But if you need more, they will be able to help you determine that....
