is depression the luxury of the rich?

Question:

Answers:
absolutely not. People of all cultures, races, and social status can get depression. It's a chemical imballance in the brain, not something you choose. (true depression i mean, cuz everyone gets depressed sometimes) Depression is certainly no luxury, it makes just living each day an endless struggle.

Other Answers:
No, the poor are depressed as well.

Its just that they can't afford the Psychiatrist/Psychologist
fees to tell them they're depressed.

Nor can they afford the expensive antidepressants that are
prescribed to moderate depression.
ah ha!you are there! .No its not the luxury of the rich .Anyone can have clinical depression .Its a chemical imbalance of the brain.(that is if you have a brain.)maybe you should quit computers and get into psychology or psychiatry
On the street? why is that?
ARE YOU KIDDING?look up on the net the average salary for either psychologist or psychiatrist. The latter makes more
Benam,i live in a public housing project .I pay $500 a month.I have some money in the bank because I am a saver. My car and my husbands truck were both paid for in cash and that's only because I got a good size refund from the IRS.Are you poor?you have the internet-you can't be poor
nor me-can we move on ?ask a different question
It's not just for the rich, but rich people do seem to be just as unhappy and anyone else. Why are all the hollywood stars always getting divorces, having post-natal depression, suffering drug addiction and anorexia? It just shows that having heaps of money doesnt always make you happy.
of course not. and you can have the same meds as they get if you check into your local gov. mental health services.
anyone can suffer from depression...rich or poor... its just that you hear more about celebrities that have depression than about regular people
both classes share equally in this disease,
actually the poor hav one advantage--the rich
could often indulge themselves and sit around and
do nothing but someone poor could actually perish
if he makes no effort to come out of it and get a job,
make friends,etc
