My boyfriend is bipolar and no matter what I do he is VERY mean when he is having an episode, what to do?

Question:

Answers:
First it's called unconditional love! If you truly love him then it won't change when he is having a hard time. Second don't take it personal when he is angry. A lot of times actions by someone who is bipolar can't help it. Learn to deal with each episode the best way you can. Take one episode at a time. If you need to step away for a minute that is perfectly fine. Do what you need to do for yourself and for him. Make sure a doctor is involved and never hestiate to call someone and ask for help!

Other Answers:
How often are the 'episodes'? He needs help, and from a professional. Do it now.
when he's having an episode leave him alone, its the best thing you can do, it may really hurt for you, but trust me, i grew up around all kinds of mental health problems (bipolar included) and have many of them myself. also make sure hes on drugs for it
Help him have fun.

Make sure he see's a Pdoc/Therapist for talk therapy and an M.D fo meds.
Either find the strength to love him in spite of his episodes and be there for him when he gets through them, or walk away so he can find someone who can. You need to be happy too.
Educate yourself about the illness. You will have to understand when someone has this illness sometimes they have rages. if you loves this guy you can't give up on him. He is not doing this for kicks ya know.Bipolars have a fear of being abandoned because of this very kind of thing. I would expect him to do his best to control what he can control and even if it isnt his fault he wacks out he should at least let you know hey I am sorry but I had an episode. Do what is best for you but I say do not give up on him.
that is just one of the affects of bipolar..i have it and i get this way sometime..just be supprtive and when he is back in normal mode explain to him what he did..
