Alzheimer question?

Question:
My husband , I am guessing, is starting stage 3 . He has been very slow in getting there are we are nearing 10 years since his diagnosis, the meds have helped. Recently he had what we thought was a heart attack and all the test show it to be negative. BUT since then and within 1 month he turned almost completely deaf. Have any of you who have been caregivers to this illness seen this before? He had no hearing problems what soever. Thank you for your help.

Answers:
Wow my dad is around stage 4 and he just had a heart attack.
He doesn't hear well and he also doesn't understand what's said to him. Have you had his hearing tested? Is he truly deaf? Or has he forgotten language? My dad's losing his language and it's heartbreaking.
Being in the hospital is very upsetting for AD patients so if you had him in the hospital or for a lot of tests that may have strongly affected him.

I nursed my mother with Alzheimer's, it is a horrible illness, and affects different people in different ways. But towards the end my Mom complained of head aches and hearing loss, the one day fell out of bed, we don't know how or why, just rolled out she was 82 years old, but 2 days later passed away, so whether the hearing loss with your husband is a sign of something to come I am not sure, but sounds like it a doctor should be able to tell you for certain. Good Luck and God Bless you, a lot of people will say I know what your going through, but if they have not experienced it, they really have no clue as to what your really going through!
