little brother?

Question:
My little brother has bipolar disorder and another disorder that messes up his perception of reality as compared to everyone elses. He is very mean and hateful to me and my mother, but not to my father or brothers. He does things that i get in trouble for, but he gets way with them, because "he can't help it". I can't say anything to my parents, because they say that it is his disorder that makes him act the way he does, but he is on medicines to combat all the diorders that he has. He can be a perfect angel when my parents are around, or when he gets his way, but when he doesn't, you had better look out. is there anything i can do to be able to deal with it? I am at my wits end and i don't know how much longer i can handle this. The only thing i can do at the moment to keep my sanity is keep reminding myself that i can move out in a year and a half. but it is getting to the point where that doesn't work anymore. Help please!!

Answers:
There may be nothing you can do to get your parents to see your side of the issue. the only person you can change is yourself. Maybe a better outlook on it would help you keep your sanity. Try and remember that maybe your brother needs someone to treat him differently than everyone else does. Maybe you can be the one person to really help him, I know that sounds like a huge pain in the butt. but it might just work, though I'm not saying it would work or even right away. it may take a long time. But you'll feel much better about the situation and maybe your brother too if you feel like you're contributing something good to it. Start by trying to find things you have in common with him and share those things with him

Other Answers:
your brother has your parents fooled. you should start being really cruel to him in any way you can. tell evertyone you know that he's gay, throw important things of his in the trash, and just generally make his life miserable until you move out.
