Listen to music.
Don't take drugs. Eventually all the stress WILL catch up, plus the stress of trying to quit would be even harder and make the other stressful stuff worse.
Music does some weird stuff in your brain that causes you to stop thinking about all the difficult daily stuff, its like a good drug and doesn't do any damage.

Read, start a journal, listen to music while you're in the tub, watch a movie, cook,do yoga, dance, gaze at the stars, paint, draw, take a slow walk on a nice road/street, treat yourself to something special.
I am sure there is something that you are truly passionate about. For example, drawing, dancing, singing, cooking, working out reading. Whatever it may be, resort to the things that make you happy and once the day is over you will look back at whatever it was that had you stressed and depressed and laugh because it didn't ruin you. You conquered it by not letting those awful feeling & emotions control you. You should always try to be in control of your own happiness. You are the only one responsible for it. Try and remember that you can overcome anything.

i write in a journal... it helps to clear your conscious and flush out your anger without hurting or embarrassing people close to you. try it!

Depending on how bad the anxiety is.. if it's a once in a while deal or a chronic problem
but follow the 6-7-8 rule.
inhale for a count of 6
hold for a count of 7
S-L-O-W-L-Y to a count of 8. The count of 8 should be your last breath. It takes pratice. I still don't have it down yet.
I have a BAD anxiety disorder so it only helped me temorarily.
But at least it did help.
What really REALLY works for me is talking to someone. I don't mean a therapist, or talking about my problems but just talking to my husband about such and such a tv show or about the cute things the cats do.. or ANYTHING that will take my mind off my problems. It's like going on vacation or something. I'm still not sure why it helps me, but it does.

i think you should take a long warm bath, while listening to your favorite kind of music. or you should read, draw/paint, or watcha movie.
