Yes, sniffing stuff can get you high.really high. With that being said, for every 6 months of using inhalants, it kills 10 IQ points. Many people have died their first time doing inhalants. (I used to do them when I was younger, and found this all out in rehab.) Some of the things that people sniff is paint, air freshener, nitrous oxide, furniture polish, computer cleaner, contact cement, gas, markers, etc. It is the most dangerous drug that you can do, and if you survive doing it for 2 years, you'll be as dumb as a box of rocks.
