Do the Meds for ADD Really Work for People? Adults?

Question:
I'm constantly distracted, it's hard for me to focus and I do multiple tasks, going back & forth, rarely finishing one in it's entirety. It's interfering with my studies. I'm an adult and my mom was like this too. Is it genetic and do the meds really work?

Answers:
well i take ritalin and it helped greatly because i was so unfocused and my mind was constantly going i couldnt even sleep. So yea they work
Hi wolfette, if your problem is really ADD, the medicine will help you focus and get you more centered. Please note that ADD medications are stimulants so the energy levels tend to go up too which makes you better able to concentrate. Hope you feel better soon.
