Hiya.
Yeh, i know about the CPA. I've been under the mental health system for quite some time now and pick up on things easily and im aware of my rights and stuff.
Don't feel paranoid about it though hun. I know it's hard having people talk behind your back about your life when infact it is 'your life' and you should get a say or at least be able to hear what changes people are thinking of making.
I know for a fact the patients are aloud to attend these meetings. I often refuse but end up going in the end anyway . If someones going to talk about me, id rather be there myself and let them talk to my face! !
You should speak to someone who attends this meeting and ask them to sit down and explain to you what had been said in the meeting. You have a right to know anything to do with you. I know that 4 a fact. The only things they can't tell you is when its soemthing that could put you or others at risk. If they don't tell you what went or go's on, you can apply to read your file where the ins and outs of the meeting will be kept anyway.
Dont worry too much hun. Think possitively and do something to occupy your mind.. even if its just listening to music or something.
Take care and hope it all turns out ok for you,
Vicki xx

ignore those insensitive idiots who answered before me. the mental health system has is not set up well.you should talk to your care coordinator, if you want to go to the meeting they should let you. i'm not sure if this is still true if your on a section but i think it is. CPA meetings are just multi-disaplinary meetings so that everyone who's involved in helping you out can get together to talk 'about' you. ideally it should be 'with' you but unfortunately there's alot of ignorance in the mental health system and people tend to think its ok to talk behind closed doors. if your worried call your care coordinator, if they are useless and you still feeling out of the loop then contact someone like MIND, search in google for your local branch, they are superb and will be probably be able to sort you out with some advocacy (someone to expalin jargon and stuff to you and then help you represent your self in CPA meetings), also most areas have ton's of service user led organisations, who are run by people who have been through the system themselves, MIND should also be able to point you to some of these, you might find it useful to chat with people that have had the same worries as you.. hope this was helpful :)
