I recently found out that I have a form of ADD, how should I tell my friends?
Question:
Answers:
Why do you need to tell them? If it doesnt impact your interactions with your friends, there's no reason why they need any explanation. You should consider keeping your medical problems confidential - just between you and your doctor. Good luck.
Other Answers:
Dont tell them. If they havent noticed already. They dont need to know.
If their your real friends..it won't matter. actually asburger syndrome is a form of autism. go a head an tell them. if they are your friends they will support you.
first of all it is proven that unless they do brain scans and blood test they can not prove if you have that or not. it is the most dignosed problem in our country today. children are ment to be hyper. my theory is that it is all a bunch of bull so don't worry much about it.
poor kid :P you have attention deflect disorder ADD meaning you feel nervous when attention is directed at you and shy right? it is normal
you should tell your parents to give to advice on how to tell your friends :)
if they are truly Friends they will understand If you take your meds and follow the doctor's instructions you will be able to control this condition somewhat, therefore if it is controlled, I don't think you need to tell your friends. You could share this information with your "best" friend, but you certainly don't need to tell everyone.
IT CAN BE HARD ENOUGH FOR YOU TO DEAL WITH YOUR DISORDER. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TELL OR EXPLAIN IT TO ANYONE. YOU ARE RIGHT TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT THAT OTHERS MIGHT JUDGE TO HARSHLY AS OUR SOCIETY IS VERY JUDGE MENTAL AND ARE AFRAID OF WHAT THEY DO NOT UNDERSTAND,BUT THERE IS NO REASON FOR YOU TO BE ASHAMED OF WHAT IS HAPPENING TO YOU. WE ALL ARE MADE DIFFERENTLY. SOME OF HAVE BAD EYES AND NEED GLASSES SOME OF US ARE LEARNING CHALLENGED AND NEED HELP.IT IS FINE IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO TELL ANYBODY ! BE HAPPY, SWEETIE EVERYTHING WILL TURN OUT FINE. YOU'LL SEE.
dont tell them, it's none of their business.
my son has adhd. we (his parents) knew he had it when he was 6 yrs old. but we didnt tell him till he was 11. hes on meds for it now. and i will tell u like i told him. you will find out more kids have it then you think. just most dont tell others. if you take meds you will take a pill 1 time a day in the morning so its not like all will see you. he was making really bad grades when he started jr high. teachers dont spend as much 1 on 1 time so he was getting lost in his mind. he brought grades up to A`s AND B`s. just dont let it bug u. take it 1 day at a time. and be a kid The only thing there is to do is to tell them sweetie, you're true friends won't care. I am 22 and I have had ADD since I was about 10, but as I got older it was easier to control and eventually I was able to stop taking my medications. I was off the meds before I entered high school. ADD is nothing to be ashamed of more and more people, children and adults, are being diagnosed everyday. It just makes things a little more difficult for us to maintain focus on some things, but if you work at it you can overcome it instead of it overcoming you. Good luck, and keep smiling!
