No, you can't get in trouble, but what you need to do is to tell each doctor what the other has prescribed for you. If one knew the other had already given you a similar medication, then he/she wouldn't have prescribed the other one. Talk to each of them and ask what to do.

Here's to gettin' high all the time.
Honestly, I think I would question either the psychiatrist or the doctor about whether it is ok to take the two medications together that you are taking. Make sure each one knows what the other is prescribing. I think that's very important for both to know.
i would only take one of them until you made sure they each know what the other one prescribed. which one knows you better? take the one that was given by the one you know & trust better.
i would also suggest talking to a pharmacist to make sure that the 2 drugs that you are taking arent going to interact with each other. if there is a chance that the drugs may interact, your pharmacist will know. however, i would probably talk to the psychiatrist about which drugs to take because the psychiatrist is more trained in psychiatric drugs and may be able to give you a better opinion on which drug will help you more.
U might not get introuble with the law but U could be putting your health at risk. Most meds that are prescribed for stress are sedating; the purpose being to help you relax. I also believe that medicine prescribed for stress are also addicting. It is improtant that you talk to both doctors about the medicine that you are taking so that you do not become over medicated.
Maybe a yoga class or a class in relaxation techniques might be more beneficial to you, in the long run, than the medicine.
You must mean a psychiatrists as in Australia psychologists as far as I know are not most of the time Doctors. To reinforce what I said have a quick look at the internet for example this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychologists.
