So if you take anxiety pills and you change, is it you or the pills talking? Read before replying.?

Question:
I'm taking paxil for ocd(obsessive thoughts that won't go away and partial anxiety from that) and I'm a lot happier, upbeat and motivated. The way I always wanted to be. I used to be grouchy all the time because the thoughts wouldn't go away so I got help(my idea noone else's) so is it all me or is it all the pills talking?

Answers:
The pills are not talking for you. It is you. You are more upbeat becuase the pills are helping with the problem that was causing you to feel badly. It's like if you take tylenol for a headache, and the headache goes away... you are much happier, right? That doesn't mean it is the tylenol making you happy. Obssesive thoughts are not only unwelcome, they cause anxiety and bring you down. Once the obsessive thoughts stop ... it is only logical that you feel better. Good for you.
It's the pills right now. But what caused you to have anxiety won't ever go away until you get counseling.
