undergone brain injury last year(crack in temporal lobe bone)recovered in 1 month.but now not able to con.....

Question: i was not able to clear competitive examdue to this untimely incident.at last decided to take another year drop.but not able to concentrate &fluctuation in feelings occurs.i m 20 &accident took 6 months back.is it all due to my failure or has medical reasons. ? if i will not control my feelings, it will ruin my career.really i m not able to tackle the situation.

have you seen a neurologist? to make certain that there was no underlying brain injury to this part of you brain? Any time the brain sustains a brain injury it can effect concentration. I do believe that the temporal lobe can effect the emotions but please don't quote me on this. I used to work with brain injured kids. It could also be due to anxiety over your injury as well. anxiety can play havoc with your emotions too. my best advice is to start with your primary care giver and see what they think. see about a referral to a neurologist and possibly a physcolost to rule out anxiety too.

also relax a bit that is a huge injust to have undergone and to expect to be 100 percent better in just 6mnths is alot to account for. I know your job is riding on that but you may want to also give yourself some more time to recoup.

Your doctors should be able to tell you more about this. I worked in a rehabilitation centre this past summer and concentration problems was a very common symptom for people who had undergone a traumatic brain injury. Another common symptom was emotional problems and fluctuations in mood. Depending on how severe your injury was, 6 months is not really a long time for healing etc. I hope you are under a doctor's care. If so, they should be able to advise and help you.
