Also known as ziprasidone, the side effects, from clinical trials of the drug by the manufacturer were as follows :-
Akathisia - This syndrome consists of subjective (feeling of inner restlessness and the urge to move) as well as objective components (rocking while standing or sitting, lifting feet as if marching on the spot and crossing and uncrossing the legs while sitting).
Depression, believe it or not!, anxiety, dizziness.
Dystonia - is a neurological movement disorder characterized by involuntary muscle contractions, which force certain parts of the body into abnormal, sometimes painful, movements or postures. Dystonia can affect any part of the body including the arms and legs, trunk, neck, eyelids, face, or vocal cords.
Rashes and vomitting. cure worse than the disease!
What you and many others using this site may not appreciate is that this family of drugs that are used to treat Bi-polar and similar conditions are heavyweight drugs and not to be messed about with!!
Also please bear in mind that any drug will affect different people differently and it is dangerous to say because Mr A is taking this drug and he is vomitting and all the rest that, you will follow suit. If you do have an adverse reaction to any drug, bring it to your doc's attention immediately, and he will prescrible something else for you. You may feel a bit like a guinea pig at first. but you will hopefully find something agrees with you.
As a final footnote, all drugs have side effects and I think the only thing that does not is calamine lotion - but will have if you drink it ( I jest by the way!) Hope that helped.
