What is the difference in services provided by psychologists, counselors, and social workers?
Question:
Answers:
psychologist is more for mental unbalances. if you're feeling depressed or timid or constantly frightened by things. this is the person you want to see
counselors are restricted to certain fields. there are counselors for pretty much any problem, addiction etc. all depends on what you need really. they are similar to psychologists in that their means is to find out what's troubling you and figure out a solution
social worker is more external in nature. more nuts and bolts rather than in depth. these people are the ones who help you find work, help find means to take care of your kids, pay your bills, etc. they care not so much about how you're feeling, but more about how you're doing.
Really their differences come more from who pays them than what their difference would be to you, most likely. And, going to see any of those people would help you find the resources that would be most helpful to you anyway.
