does anyone take lexepro and xanax?

i'm currently on 10mg daily lexepro, but i am still having panic attacks in specific situations (being in a car). my dr. put me on lexepro after i was in an accident and started having panic attacks whenever i had to get back in a car. the lexepro has been great for day to day depression and pms, but it hasn't helped with the panic attacks. will adding xanax help? will there be side effects from mixing the two meds?

what does one do if one gets stuck on one emotion?

well im glad to hear that youve been helped in some way by medication though im really not a big supporter of taking medication for things like that, panic attacks arent easy to fix period, you have a real fear of being in cars and you have to face it, i wouldnt reccomend you adding more medication to what you already take, think about it this way, if your roof leaked everytime it rained would it make sence to just put a bucket under it or some plastic on the roof ? or would ot be better to actually FIX the roof, its alot more difficult to fix the roof but then if you do there will be no more leaks and it will be stronger.
my point is you need to face your fear and overcome it, it is not easy when youve been in a car accident to just "get over it" but if you put the effort in youll be a stronger person for it and youll find you can handle other things better as well, the old saying "what doesnt kill you only makes you stronger" is so true! you made it through that accident, let it make you stronger. you have to face that fear medication is just a patch and the fear will still be there it will just be dampened.
good luck , email me on here if you want some ideas on how to face fears, ive had to face a few in my life and i wouldnt mind helping.

can mood stabilizing meds actually make you stupid?

i cant speak for someone else, but my girlfriend is on lexapro and it works very well for her.
