Why teenager are developing a major problem with aggressive behavior now more then before?
Question:
Answers:
I believe that our advances in child nutrition have developed an unpleasant side effect. Starting at birth with fortified baby formulas, and continuing through childhood, the food that we feed to our children contains added vitamins, minerals, proteins, and in some cases, hormones. This results in a more efficient growth curve. Consequently, children are maturing faster than any other time in history.
The only problem with this is that while the bodies of our children are maturing faster, their mental and emotional states are not developing at the same rate. So we have a population of physically mature beings with the emotional stability of children.
Then, as if to add insult to injury, the media bombards these poor souls with sexually explicit content, fanning the flames of the already gross hormonal weirdness of puberty.
With such conflicting physical and societal pressures, it's small wonder that the pressures erupt in aggression.
Other Answers:
This is a fast paced, electronic, detached, emotionless society. They are just acting out.
because they have grown up with no consequences for their behavior in my opinion, the society. the movies. parents' demands and expectations.. parents' examples. peers pressures. inferiority complex. insecurity. maybe.i guessed as much..
BECAUSE DUMBA$$ PARENTS ARE BUYING THEM CELL PHONES AND VIDEO GAMES LIKE GRAND THEFT AUTO. IF A KID HAS A CELL PHONE, THE PARENT NO LONGER HAS TOTAL CONTROL OF THE CHILD. PARENTS ALSO NEED TO GET BACK TO THE DAYS OF SPANKING AND HARSHER PUNISHMENT, NOT THIS CODDLING, TREE HUGGING HIPPY CRAP THAT IS SO POPULAR THESE DAYS.
I believe that teenagers are more aggressive now b/c they are either trying to fit in or bad things have happened in their life. The problem could be at home and that could be their way of handling their problems.
Because they are either from a broken home or a violent home background where there is little love and affection. If children see anger, they will be angry adults. Whatever they see, they copy. This is because they believe their parents are right. Nutritional deficiencies have been linked to aggressive behavior -- wasn't there something nicknamed the "Twinkie Defense" years back? The studies done in prisons are especially interesting.
But look at what we're eating, especially teenagers, processed junk with all of the goodness and flavor taken out and artificial flavorings put in to make it at all edible. Maybe this is one outcome of it. Teens are more aggressive now because discipline has become limited. It is "wrong" to spank your children. The same with schools-when teachers were allowed to spank kids, they didn't get out of line. Now, however, there are no repercussions for bad behavior so they run amuk.
