St.John's Wort USERS?
Question:
Answers:
It might calm you, but it doesn't have the same effect on everyone...
Actually, it might make you feel stoned, depending how resistant your body is or it may make you feel relaxed.... The only way to know is to try it, but read on it a little more because it shouldn't be mixed with some meds
Per example, If you are woman (your avatar doesn't really specify), and if you are on the birth control pill, it will reduce its efficiency up to 50%..... Now, you wouldn't want that!
Other Answers:
I tried it and hated it. I also hated the way it made me feel while I was on it.
it had a mild effect, i just moved on to weed and am fine now.
It didn't do anything for my depression. But it did help lessen my PMS symptoms.
dont take it with birthcontrol pills it interfers with it
I heard that people with low, low grade, depression type symptoms have had good results with St. Johns. However, there is no real evidence that it helps with deep depression, or chronic depression. There are also some problems with this drug interacting with other medications, and it could cause liver damage. (sorrry I can't remember specifically which drugs that St. John is never suppose to be taken with).
If you do take St. John, I'd ask/tell your doc about it, and see if it will interact with any of your current meds.
It doesn't work for all people because everyone is different. The same is to be said about pharmaceutical depression meds, not one pill will work for everyone, that's why there's so many brands that are out there.
Hope this helps.
