Is having a "fetish" considered a sexual disorder, and if so, why?

Question:
There are many people who have sexual fetishes (including those who deny having them), which can range from a fetish for leather, up to wearing diapers, etc... I wanted to find out YOUR opinion and approach to the subject of people with sexual fetishes. For example, I think there is nothing wrong with having a fetish, as long as you do not hurt anyone when expressing it/doing it.

Here's an example of a very specific type of sexual fetish, which doesn't hurt anyone at all, but is still considered to be "taboo" or "unacceptable":

Cheers, and thank you in advance for your thoughts on the subject!

Answers:
Fetishes are just that, fetishes, an overwhelming desire for an object that you just can't live without.

A fetish becomes a sexual fetish when a person cannot have a successful sexual relationship without the involvement of the object of that person's fetish.

An example would be a man can't get an erection or ejaculate unless he has a diaper on or unless his partner has one on. Something similar to that would constitute a sexual fetish.

I agree, fetishes, as long as they cause no one any harm and are strictly a voluntary practice then there is nothing wrong with them. When a fetish controls a person's life and they cannot perform certain functions without the fetish item being involved then it's time for counseling and finding a way to deal with the fetish is a safe and harmless fashion.

Good luck.
Your saying to do no one else any harm makes it harmless to me.
