Has anyone had major anxiety after signing a lease or before a big move?
Question:
Now all I can think about is everything wrong with it. How maybe I shouldn't move. How it's not good for my pets. How it was all a huge mistake. How much money I just gave these people.
I can't sleep. I feel like a bad "mom" to my pets. I just crossed from happy and relieved to wanting to cry. I'd like to hear from anyone who has dealt with this.
Answers:
I deal with this daily. It is quite normal when making large dollar decisions to "freak out" after the fact. this happens quite a bit with first time home buyers, but a large lease like those in NYC, would resemble a similar financial undertaking, at least in the mind of the Lessee. Calm down, remember why it is you decided in the first place to rent this place. Is it really such a bad thing for your pets? or are you making it as such to rectify your post-lease jitters. I would be worried if you didn't want to second-guess yourself (unless this is something you do constantly). It is very normal to re-hash all of the negatives, but you know, there isn't such a thing as a 100% perfect situation in real estate. You made the decision because it was the best one to make based on everything you had seen compared to it. So obviously, this was a close to 80% perfect situation for you. Don't worry, and focus yourself on the benefits of your new abode.

Yes, I have had anxiety about signing a lease... this is normal to feel this way. You want everything to be perfect. The best way to feel less anxious is to way your options again (to make sure). Sometimes it may be 'perfect' for the time being. Relax. Look over your options. And go from there. It will be okay
don't worry so much. make it work. its a big step in life and you have to just do it. its like the 1st time you went to school, you were nervous and then you got into it. since your geting older there are less and less first things. this is nothing compared to finding out your going to have a kid or some other lifelong commitment. this isn't a permanent thing is you don't want it to be but you should try your best to make it work and don't overthink anything. its a common reaction and everyone does it so don't worry about it. have fun and live life. as long as your breathing life's good. live and be happy. there are people in this world much worse off than you and there are millions before you who have done exactly just what your doing now. goodluck
Oh my goodness ! If you didn't then there would be something wrong with you! Change isn't natural if it comes on fast, evolution took millions of years! Nobody accepts change! The adult way is to take charge of your life and do what you have to do.
I think that anyone making a move feels anxious. After all we r moving from familiar surroundings to new ones and everything seems really different than what we r accostomed to. Sorry I spelled that wrong! But you aren't being a bad mom to you pets. I just moved from a mobile home to a house 3 months ago and i am still trying to get aquainted with the house all over again and i have lived in this house 3 other times (my Dad owns the house) but don't worry the anxiety will go away and yes you will still be a good mom i know that i am a better mom to my pets because my dog can now run in a yard rather than be taken in and out on a leash. Be positive you r fine.
